WOODLAND, Calif. - Six Aggies captured Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic All-Conference honors for women's gymnastics, it was announced by executive director Al Beaird Wednesday.

The honorees are seniors Hanna Anderson, Mei Ling Clark, Sophia Chaban, Arianne Furman and Megan Nakagawa; and junior Carolyn Kampf. With six selections, UC Davis held the highest representation among the four-team league. Air Force had three honorees, while Alaska Anchorage and Seattle Pacific each claimed five.

This is the third straight Academic All-MPSF honor for Anderson, Clark, Furman and Nakagawa. It is the first for Kampf and Chaban.

Anderson, an exercise biology major from La Crescenta, had the second-highest GPA among the 19 MPSF honorees. She earned USAG All-America honors as a sophomore in 2004, finishing fifth on balance beam at the national meet.

Clark, a native of Nevada City and also an exercise biology major, earned her first USAG All-America award this season, placing eighth on uneven bars.

Chaban, a psychology major from San Francisco, appeared in nine meets in 2006. She scored her beam career-high of 9.675 in back-to-back meets with Sacramento State.

Furman, another exercise biology major who hails from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., won her first All-MPSF award this season, capturing a second-team nod on bars.

Nakagawa, an animal science major from San Jose, Calif., has also won four All-MPSF awards in her career. She was named to the beam and floor exercise second teams in 2006, and vault and floor second teams in 2004.

Kampf competed in 12 meets this year, mostly on uneven bars. She hit a career high of 9.750 in the Aggies' home final with Sacramento State, then matched that mark to place in a tie for fifth at the MPSF Championship.

Academic All-MPSF distinction is awarded to student-athletes of sophomore, junior or senior standing with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade-point average. Student-athletes also must have completed one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is received, and must have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions.

UC Davis finished second at this season's USAG Collegiate Nationals in Ithaca, N.Y.
